Betty on the News: Michelle Obama’s Revenge Over Flirting
The first lady supposedly gave a young campaign backer the boot after fearing for her marriage
In a new book available today titled Barack and Michelle: Portrait of an American Marriage, author Christopher Andersen alleges that President Barack Obama was continuously harassed by women during his campaign for presidency, and that the first lady was livid.
The book mentions that Michelle Obama gave her husband the silent treatment at one point after witnessing dozens of ladies grabbing onto his toned physique and stuffing phone numbers in his pockets.
Anderson quotes Michelle as saying “. . . I want to tell these women, ‘Back off. Get a life.’ It’s just embarrassing, that’s all.”
The first lady finally had enough when Barack supposedly grew close to an attractive young African-American woman (who worked for the Obama campaign) named Vera Baker.
“When Baker suddenly and inexplicably vanished from the campaign and resurfaced on the Caribbean island of Martinique, tongues reportedly began wagging,” Anderson cites. “A jealous Michelle, it was suggested, had engineered Baker’s departure.”
It just goes to show that you can’t mess with Mrs. Michelle Obama’s hubby and get away with it! (The New York Post)
