24-year-old Raymond Clark III, the last person reported to have seen Yale grad student Annie Le alive, was arrested Thurday morning and charged with her murder, the New Haven Police Department announced in a press conference. His bond has been set at $3 million.
The lab tech worked along side Le in the lab where her body was found reportedly had an unrequited romantic interest in her. He failed multiple lie detector tests and had scratch marks on his chest, indicating that he was in a struggle.
After police matched Clark’s DNA to the crime scene this week, authorities arrested him at a Super 8 hotel in Cromwell, about 25 miles north of the Ivy League campus, where he had been staying since being released early Wednesday by police, who had served him search warrants looking for evidence linking him to Le’s death.
No further details were given as to Clark’s possible motive for strangling the young co-ed. (NY Daily News)
