For women who suffer from menstrual cramps, relief may be on its way in the form of a new pill. Known as VA111913, the new drug, manufactured by the British company Vantia Therapeutics, targets the cause of stomach pain, and not just the symptoms as other medicines have done, and has shown to be safe so-far in clinical trials.
Over 15 percent of women suffer from dysmenorrhea, the medical term for menstrual cramps, and if approved by the FDA, the drug could be a break-through in reducing the duration of painful monthly cramps. (Daily News)
