Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin may seem an unlikely Hollywood duo, but the two are teaming up to host this coming year’s Oscars.
The comedian and the 30 Rock star immediately began practicing their witty banter by exchanging a few quick barbs after the announcement came on Tuesday.
“I am happy to co-host the Oscars with my enemy Alec Baldwin,” said Martin.
“I don’t play the banjo but I’m thrilled to be hosting the Oscars – it’s the opportunity of a lifetime,” added Baldwin.
The producers for this year’s Academy Awards said that Martin and Baldwin were the perfect pair to host this year’s telecast.
“Steve will bring the experience of having hosted the show in the past and Alec will be a completely fresh personality for this event,” they said in a statement.
The 82nd Academy Awards will be broadcast live on Sunday, March 7, on ABC. (People)
