Author Charlaine Harris, best known for her vampire novels that inspired the HBO series True Blood, recently sat down with CNN to talk about the future of Sookie Stackhouse and whether the author would ever want to switch places with her heroine.
“Some days when I’m bored, I think that would be fun … But actually I know I like my life as it is and I like my guys without fangs,” she said.
Although her latest book, a compilation of short stories about Sookie entitled, A Touch of Dead, is currently number two on the New York Times best-seller list, Harris revealed that she may eventually lose steam and stop writing the series. Fans need not worry yet, however, the author is still contracted to write three more books after the next installment Dead in the Family is released next May.
“[The book] deals with a lot of family issues, and not all of the families are normal families,” she said when asked for a spoiler for Dead in the Family. (CNN)
