Betty on the News: Woman Purchases a Dog for $582,000
Would you dish out that much for a mutt?
Earlier this year a family in Florida dished out $155,000 for a Labrador named Lancelot Encore, whom they cloned from the original Lancelot, but that price pales in comparison to what one woman recently paid for man’s best friend.
A young millionaire from China has purchased an 18-month-old black Tibetan Mastiff for $582,000, which may have broken the world’s most expensive dog record (we wouldn’t doubt it!).
According to a Chinese Web site, the woman – known as Mrs. Wang – adored the mutt from the first time she laid eyes on it while on a breeding trip in Qinghai province.
After purchasing the dog Mrs. Wang decided to call it Yangtze River Number Two, though nobody quite knows why she settled on that peculiar name.
“Gold has a price, but this Tibetan Mastiff doesn’t,” the young lady told reporters while returning home. (FOXNews.com)
