Betty on the News: 1,316lb-Cupcake Unveiled at Breast Cancer Awareness Concert
The massive treat has set a new record!
THINK PINK founders put together an amazing charity concert over the weekend for the 2nd Annual THINK PINK ROCKS event. Stage IV metastatic breast cancer survivor Stephanie Robin and her pal Elizabeth Weprin originally created the event to help raise awareness for the disease and to fund various breast cancer organizations.
Four thousand people came together at the Mizner Park Amphitheater in Boca Raton, FL, where they enjoyed entertainment from Akon, Shontelle and others. The massive crowd even got to catch a glimpse of the world’s largest cupcake — which took the Passion for Pastry bakery 30 hours to make!
A mindboggling 10-foot oven was used to construct the 1,316lb treat that measured 5-feet tall and 4-feet wide.
A GUINESS WORLD RECORDS ™ rep was nearby to certify the brand new record, and later the cake was served up for donations to THINK PINK ROCKS during the pink carpet ceremonies following the event.
The concert went a long way to benefitting such wonderful organizations as The American Cancer Society, The Florida Breast Cancer Foundation, BRCH Women’s Center for Breast Care and more.
