Trend Alert: Safety Pin Jewelry
With safety pin jewelry popping up on our favorite celebs, we can’t decide if this is a hot or not trend.
Looks like Hollywood stylists have a very tiny budget for jewelry, and are looking for cheaper alternatives to gold and silver – like say, safety pins? Yes, safety pins have recently been spotted on the ears and necks of such stars as Hilary Duff, Agyness Deyn, Pamela Anderson, Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Bynes, and Miley Cyrus.
We think Hilary’s studded safety pin earrings are a cool twist for double pierced ears. But Pamela Anderson’s necklace looks like one of her kid’s made it as a school project. Hmm, could this be the case?
A cross between preppy and punk, this is a kind of cute and inexpensive trend that everyone can mimic (just disinfect any pins you find lying around your house before sticking them in your ears, please). If you’re not into DIY, here are some cute safety pin-themed choices we found and like that can actually be considered jewely:

Would you stick a safety pin in your ear? Do you like this trend? Hate this trend?
