How do you best analyze your strengths to access the right career?

I LOVE this question! Makes me all tingly to just consider the fabulous journey that uncovering strengths promises. OK. It’s an inquiry process, so you’re going to be asking yourself a ton of questions. Get a piece of paper and a pen. Ready? Here we go.
What do you do when you lose track of time? What do others compliment you on? What attracts you? What makes you feel strong? When are you at your best? What do you do when you have free time at work? When you have free time outside of work? Have you ever taken any assessments — like the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, the Strong Inventory, the Leadership Circle, DiSC 2.0? What do those assessments say about you?
After you answer these questions, you may begin to see a pattern emerge. This is the pattern of your strengths. Continue to explore and drill down until you have four or five key strengths that are at the core of what makes you, you. Once you’re really clear on your strengths, the right career should be pretty obvious. Keep an open mind and remember to center your work in your strengths — then it really won’t feel like work!
