Although it was previously reported that Michaele and Tareq Salahi would not participate in an interview for less than a six-figure payment, the couple who reportedly crashed President Obama‘s White House State Dinner last week appeared on the Today Show this morning to tell their side of the story for free.
“We can tell you, we did not party-crash the White House,” Tareq stated to Matt Lauer.
“We were invited. Not crashers. And there isn’t anyone who would have the audacity or the poor behavior to do that,” added wife Michaele.
Although the couple refused to divulge who it was that invited them, they told Lauer that they were fully cooperating with the Secret Service’s investigation and were ‘devastated’ by the allegations that were circulating about them in the press.
“Our lives have been destroyed. Everything we worked for, Matt. For me, 44 years, just destroyed,” emoted Michaele. (People)
