White House Crashers: We Didn’t Have Tickets
Tareq and Michaele Salahi got the chance to meet President Obama after slithering into the White House.
During an interview with Matt Lauer on Tuesday Michaele and Tareq Salahi claimed they were invited to President Obama’s White House State Dinner last week, though they failed to say who gave them the green light.
But according to e-mails uncovered yesterday afternoon Michele Jones, a special assistant to Defense Secretary Robert Gates, told the couple there was a very slim chance they would be able to attend. Later that day – last Tuesday – Jones left them a message stating they definitely weren’t on the list.
Michaele and Tareq headed to the White House anyway (they alleged that their cell phone died and they only received the message after being “approved”).
The Secret Service maintains their names did not make the list, and are now revising the screening policies because of the extreme violation. (The New York Post)
