Nearly Half of Women Suffering
from Sexual Dysfunction
And many just don’t care
What’s the deal, ladies?
According to new research, nearly half of women living in the United States are currently experiencing sexual dysfunction. While 40 percent have reported the complications, only 12 percent seem to give a hoot (at least that’s their story and they’re sticking to it!).
In a previous study 32,000 females aged 18 and older were quizzed on the matter, and overall 43.1 percent claimed to have suffered some form of sexual problem, 39 percent had diminished desire, 26 percent found arousal challenging, and 21 percent had trouble achieving orgasm.
The good news, however, is that the busy bees in white coats are coming closer to discovering an antidote.
“There is research going on, and my hope is that women are finally going to have some options when it comes to sexual disorder treatments,” said Sheryl Kingsberg, chief of the division of behavioral medicine at MacDonald Women’s Hospital, University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland. “Right now, there are very limited options, but I think it’s coming.”
