XBox Game Teaches Guys How to Talk to Girls
“Don’t B Nervous Talking 2 Girls” coaches gamers on the basics of romantic conversation.
“Are you nervous talking to girls? All you need is a little practice.”
No, that’s not the narrator from a 1950s educational film. It’s the tagline for a brand new XBox game called Don’t B Nervous Talking 2 Girls.
Yes, we’ve come to this. We’re so firmly ensconced in our MyFaceTwitterBookEmailTubeXBox world that we need a video game to instruct our nation’s virile young men in the art of conversing with flesh-and-blood women.
In Don’t B Nervous, gamers embark on a fantasy date with an attractive young woman who’s been recorded on videotape. Players are then offered two dialogue options. If they choose correctly, they win the girl’s approval – and a higher score. If they choose incorrectly, not only does their score plummet, but they get a snarky response from their date. Our favorite?
“Leave now before I call the police.”
Who among us hasn’t wanted to utter that after our date said something stupid? We’re big believers that practice makes perfect. But a video game to rehearse your courting skills? What’s wrong with trying out your lines on a real lady? (Hint, hint…)
We had to wonder – is this game for real?
So we tracked down David Flook, who, along with his brother Jonathan, created Don’t B Nervous Talking 2 Girls.
David, a shy 37-year-old, tells BettyConfidential he’s thrilled with the strong response the game’s received since its release just a few days ago.
“People find it curious and sort of strange and weird,” he says.
