A Lesson in Oscar Etiquette with Kevin Kline and Mike Myers
Watch Mike Myers school Kevin Kline in Oscar etiquette in this new Funny or Die short!
Winning an Oscar is awesome, but apparently there’s also some weird baggage that comes along with it. Just ask Kevin Kline.
Kevin, you see, won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in 1989 for A Fish Called Wanda. But it appears that there are ways you hold your Oscar… and there are ways you never, EVER hold your Oscar. And poor Kevin? Well, let’s just say that he hasn’t quite gotten it down yet. And Mike Myers—sorry, Sir Cecil Worthington—is going to school him on it. Maybe that’s why he’s got such a frowny face in that picture up there. Anyway, watch it here!
Best Oscar promo ever? Perhaps. Teaming up with Funny or Die was a good move, Oscar producers! All I know now is that I am now sincerely hoping that the ceremony will be as funny as this short. I am also horribly afraid that it won’t be and all my hopes will be dashed. Then again, with Billy Crystal at the helm again, we’ll probably be fine. I still remember this one with great fondness:
I think it has something to do with the propeller guy from Titanic being followed up by Mary Ann.
Tell us: Will the Oscars be awesome this year? Or will they tank?
