BC: What hair products were used during the show?

NH: The team used Soft-Sheen Carson Let’s Jam, a light hold gel to give a sleek look to the model’s front part of the hair. The rest of the hair was curled using a wand barrel to create a soft wave and then we lightly sprayed the curls with Soft-Sheen Carson Optimum flexible holding spray.

BC: How is doing runway hair completely different than actual client hairstyling?

NH: Styling runway hair is completely different than styling hair for the salon, because the runway is a faster paced environment. It requires working very fast with a pre-chosen hairstyle. Whereas, in the salon although time is a slight factor, it doesn’t restrict you the way working on hair for a show does. Depending on the designer’s esthetics, the hair (for a show) can range from casual to avant garde. Salon hairstyling (real-life) tends to be a bit more conservative. I love the excitement of runway hair artistry because it challenges my speed, precision and it brings me joy when a client is pleased with the results.
