Beauty Road Test: Physicians Formula pH Powered Bronzer
Based on your pH, this Physicians Formula bronzer quickly matches your skin tone.
Finding a bronzer that doesn’t make you either look liked you’ve rolled around in mud or have the oddest tan ever, is a feat in and of itself. I generally stay away from bronzers for those reasons and that fact (this is sooo sad) that I can never get it right.
It was with some hesitation that I tried the Physicians Formula pH Powered Bronzer ($14.95, physiciansformula.com and at drugstores and mass merchandisers nationwide). I was tickled by the light-up mirror and liked the special compartment for the brush, but was too scared to try it. I’ve been burned by bronzers before.
One day getting ready to meet up with some friends, I screwed up my courage and said, “What the hell!” Then I applied it on my face. I looked tan. I looked lightly sun-kissed. It looked natural. It looked, yes, good! All I did was place a little on my forehead and other spots on my face where I’d naturally get sun and color.
Because the Physicians Formula pH Powered Bronzer contains fluorescein based dye so the color of the bronzer automatically adjusts to your skin’s pH levels, giving you a natural looking glow. It comes in two shades: Light Bronzer and Bronzer.
It also cured my bronzer phobia.
