Bedbugs Love to Shop!
At least they do in Soho.
Tourists and New Yorkers beware – the Hollister store in Soho is riddled with bedbugs! No one is exactly sure how those suckers (literally) got into the store, but they’re not leaving.
According to Racked.com, the store was closed on June 30, 2010 and will remain closed for two weeks, so they can make the insects-if that’s what they are- go away. Here’s the big problem: bedbugs love clothing, people, darkness and wood. The store is kept in perpetual darkness, the interiors are wooden- wood walls, wood beams, wood stairs and let’s not get into all the tees etc., that are in the shop. So, while they’re stating that the store should re-open soon, there’s a good chance that it’s going to take much longer than the two weeks they claim it will take to make everything nice and new again.
If you’ve visited New York City recently, shopped in the Hollister store and now are itchy, you might have brought an unexpected souvenir home with you. (Racked)
