Best Dressed at the Grammys

From Jennifer Hudson to Rihanna, these stars sparkled and shone on the Grammy Awards red carpet.

First timers and veterans trod the Staples Center red carpet for the Grammys Sunday night. Pre-show, all eyes were on a trailer (yes, a tractor trailer) that held Lady Gaga. When she came out, she was hidden in an egg that was perched on a palanquin, held up by four guys wearing yellow and white dresses. Because no one could see her, Gaga’s first outfit couldn’t be considered a best or worst dressed one. You could barely make out her face hidden behind an oxygen mask through the smeared outer finish of the egg!

Luckily, were plenty of other celebs to ogle on the red carpet. Gold was the hot color of the night; were they dressing up like the award in hopes of bringing one home? Let’s take a look at our picks for best dressed.

You can always trust Rihanna to be a step ahead of the pack. She wore a horizontal tiny ruffled gown with a tight train that had Ryan Seacrest drooling! When Ryan asked Rihanna about the gown that showed off her figure, she said, “It’s Jean Paul Gaultier, (he’s) one of my favorite designers. I love wearing his dresses and anything he makes. I pretty much snatched it off the runway!” She complimented her outfit with Louboutin shoes.

Selena Gomez

Can this girl do anything wrong? She’s got a hot career, a hot bf (the Biebs) and dresses like a dream on the red carpet. Selena wore a slinky gold vee-necked gown by J. Mendel that was accented with jewelry by Lorraine Schwartz. She told Ryan, “it’s gold and I feel like an award!” Selena carried a Judith Lieber clutch and walked the red carpet in Brian Atwood shoes.

Dianna Agron

Glee’s Dianna Agron really amped up her red carpet look. Maybe she’s practicing for the red carpet for her upcoming movie, I am Number Four. Whatever the reason, she looked stellar. Dianna wore a bustier and skirt from Vivianne Westwoood’s Gold Label collection, Ferragamo pumps and House of Lavande jewelry.

Nicole Kidman

It’s been a long time since Nicole Kidman has been on anyone’s best dressed list. Tonight, she shocked everyone by looking more fantastic than she has in years. Look, if a man really loves you, he doesn’t care what you wear and it was obvious that Keith Urban didn’t care that Nicole looked like she never met a mirror that she liked. Whatever the change is, we hope that she continues! Nicole wore a body hugging Jean Paul Gaultier gown. We like, Nicole, we likey!

Miranda Lambert

Talk about glitter! Miranda Gilbert had her best red carpet look on at the Grammys in her sexy, gold Georges Chakra gown and SR Nina Runsdorf jewelry. Miranda won a Grammy for Best Female Country Vocal. When she won, she said, “First Grammy performance ever, first Grammy ever!”

  1. While I think Diana Agron looked beautiful – but this is the Grammys where you’re supposed to take risks so I have to say boring! Jennifer Lopez has great legs but no one over 22 should wear a dress that short. Lengthen the dress 1 1/2 inches and then she’d be worthy of the best dressed list. Loved seeing Selena Gomez sex it up a bit and thought Jennifer Hudson looked phenomenal. Nicole Kidman and Rihanna both wore dresses from the same line by Jean Paul Gaultier but Rihanna’s went too far. Nicole got it just right. Missing from the list of best dressed but should have been on it were Miley Cyrus (I’ve never seen her look this good) and Kelly Osbourne.

  2. Heidi Klum and Nicole Kidman were my fav’s. I detested Rihanna’s dress and as for J. Lo – if she leaned over the slightest bit, we could see HER Pucci………….
