BettyConfidential Plays With Really Pricey Jewelry!
Sadly, the pretty baubles weren’t free samples.
Every year, once a year, The Park Avenue Armory opens up its doors and hosts the annual Arts and Antiques Show. Dealers from around the world bring everything from jewelry (new and estate), fine art, antiques, furniture, even antique wicker furniture to show off and sell.
Of course I had to check out the jewelry at the show. There I met with Reagan John Rada of Piranesi. Reagan is a jewelry designer for Piranesi. The company has created fine jewelry since 1845. They kindly allowed me to try on some jewelry so you could see what it looks like on. However, they kept smushing my hair down, so I look like I have curly dog ears instead of hair.
Take a look at this impromptu jewelry fashion show. When Reagan is talking prices, he’s talking wholesale prices. So the real price for all these diamonds is close to $200,000. Yeah, I choked too!
If you are in the New York metropolitan area, the art, (jewelry) and antique show will be held until October 3, 2010. Nationally, you can check out the site and meet with one of the dealers who live near you when they come back home.
