Betty’s Last Day in Vegas!
The last day of my trip was definitely the best – and the sexiest!
Noooo! My last day in Las Vegas! Had the trip really gone by that fast? Day one and two were both so great, I was sad my adventure was coming to an end. But I really have to hand it to VisitLasVegas.com and R&R Partners – they made sure the final day of our Summer Journalist Immersion Tour was the best one of all.
When I first saw what was listed on our itinerary for day three, I shook my head in disbelief. Indoor Skydiving was the first activity at 10 a.m. All I could think was, “I’m afraid of heights. There is no way I’m going to be participating in this one.”
I kept this attitude on that morning as we arrived at Vegas Indoor Skydiving, telling Shaina at the front desk I wouldn’t be flying but I’d love to watch. She insisted I sit in on the safety and demonstration class before I made up my mind. That’s where I met Alex, the instructor who won’t take no for an answer. When I told him I wasn’t flying, let’s just say, that didn’t fly with him.
Yes, Alex coaxed me into signing the waiver form and suiting up in this ridiculous blue and pink jumpsuit with a pink helmet to match. I was also required to wear earplugs, gloves, and sneakers. I felt like a buffoon, but there was no turning back now. I was actually going to do this.
As it turns out, Alex was heaven sent. If not for him and his persuasive sense of humor, I would’ve missed out on one of the best experiences of my life. Indoor skydiving was ridiculously fun, and I had the biggest grin on my face the entire time. It’s not scary, you don’t go up too high, and the instructor never leaves your side. Beyond that, it just feels awesome! This massive fan is shooting you up into the air, where you can spin around and feel the magic of flight. After my flight time was over, I left the skydiving room with a giddy high that would last the rest of the day.
