Britney’s Mom’s Book to Hit Shelves in September
Will you buy it?
-Julie Ryan Evans
You’d think she’s have better things to do with her time than to pimp her children by writing a book about their personal struggles, but Lynn Spears-mother to Britney and teenage mother Jamie Lynn-has managed to do just that. Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World is due for release in September.
Star Magazine reports that: “… the book will take readers “beyond the reach of the paparazzi and outside the narrow orbit of the Hollywood glitterati to share the inside story of the Spears family-as only a mother can tell it.”
Topics she discusses include:
– Her regret in abdicating parental authority to managers, agents and record companies
– Her response to Jamie Lynn’s teen pregnancy
– The startling events that led to Britney’s meltdown and Lynne’s showdown with manager Sam Lufti
Besides the ridiculously forced title and her blatant use of her children’s troubled lives to make money, I’m sure that enough people are going to be curious about what she has to say to actually buy the book. Which is too bad. It’s not like it’s 10 years post-trauma and the girls have grown up and settled down and she can reflect on troubled times past and offer lessons learned. While Britney is reportedly doing better, I’m not sure anyone’s convinced she’s “well” and that there’s not more drama ahead. So why now, why draw more attention to the tragedies of their lives … if not for the bucks?
