Paula Abdul wants to do talk show
It’s been nearly a month since Paula Abdul shocked millions with the announcement that she was preparing to leave American Idol, and for the first time since making said declaration she is laying it all out on the table.
This past Sunday she spoke to TV Guide Magazine at the Hollywood Hills home of musical producer Craig Zadan (Paula will soon be appearing in his comedy series Drop Dead Diva) about her choice to ditch Idol and her upcoming projects.
“You know, to say ‘no regrets’ isn’t easy,” she replied when asked if she is unhappy with her decision. “I feel like I have been such a big, huge part of the success of the show from day one. I loved being able to be the artist’s artist; being there from my point of view of knowing what it feels like to be vulnerable and to be out there wanting to achieve the most magical moment in a minute and thirty seconds.”
Even though Paula is no longer a part of the Idol team, she says she still plans to tune in to the new season, and that there are no hard feelings between her and the current judges.
So what’s next for the 47-year-old star? Hopefully a talk show, though she remains tight lipped about the ins and outs.
“Well, since there is talk about me possibly doing one I don’t want to give the goodies away,” she coyly disclosed. “I’d be Paula. It would be a lot of fun variety with a ton of unexpected stuff and tributes to everyday people getting their big chance.”
