Celeb Style: Better as a Blonde?
Celebs are going blonde, from Jessica Alba to Lindsay Lohan. Are they having more fun?

A bevy of Hollywood beauties has seen the light as of late, trading their signature dark locks for bombshell blonde. Perhaps they want to see for themselves whether blondes have more fun, or maybe they’re just looking for a change. While the these transformations seem instant to us, according to Los Angeles colorist Kim Vo, “A major mistake people make is that they have unrealistic expectations. They want a major change all in one day. Celebrities go through eight hours and use extensions, but it is always better to change your hair color gradually.”
So the question remains, are these ladies better as blondes? Take a look at these before-and-after photos, and you be the judge.
In my opinion, Jessica Alba could dye her hair blue and she’d still be gorgeous. Her new lighter look certainly compliments her skin tone, and she lightened up her eyebrows as well (as most women should). According to Vo, women with medium skin tones like Jessica’s should avoid going too ashy or too gold, and add baby blonde highlights around the face.
As if her body didn’t give her enough va-va-voom, Kim Kardashian went blonde over the summer. Her highlighted look was a winner, and but she returned to her darker roots just a few weeks ago. Kim’s blonde look meshed with Vo’s suggestion that women with more olive skin tones avoid too much gold, as two or three colors of blonde throughout the hair and a rootier look are most flattering.
