Celebs and Moët & Chandon Donate Big on the Golden Globes Red Carpet
In Moët & Chandon’s second annual “Toast for a Cause” program, celebs toasted to their favorite charities on the Golden Globes red carpet, and Moët & Chandon made donations on their behalf.
On this year’s Golden Globes red carpet, the buzz wasn’t all about the famous faces and beautiful dresses. There was also a generous charity initiative going on, courtesy of Moët & Chandon, as part of their second annual “Toast for a Cause” program. The company behind the official champagne of the Golden Globes enlisted the help of celebrities to give back to those in need.
In “Toast for a Cause,” celebrities are asked to make a champagne toast to their favorite charity – in return, Moët & Chandon donates $1,000 to that charity on their behalf. It’s the only initiative of its kind conducted on an award show red carpet, and this year, celebs were bubbling at the chance to participate.
Here are just a few of the celebrities who made toasts at this year’s Golden Globes, and the charities they chose:
Olivia Wilde, Oxfam
Zachary Levi, Operation Smile
Tom Hanks, Welcome Home Veterans
Rita Wilson, Women’s Cancer Research Fund
Mark Saling, James Hunter Wildlife Rehabilitation
Blair Underwood, AIDS Health Care Foundation
Kaley Cuoco, Humane Society
Eric Stonestreet, Wave Side Waves
Kevin Spacey, Save the Children
Scarlett Johansson, USA Harvest
Gabourey Sidibe, Fresh Air Fund
Chris Noth, Rainforest Action Network
Christina Aguilera, World Food Programme
LL Cool J, Camp Cool J
Jake Gyllenhaal, who was the 20th celeb to participate, chose New Eyes for the Needy as his favorite charity. To commemorate their own 20th anniversary with the Golden Globes, Moët & Chandon donated an impressive $5,000 to Jake’s choice.
See? Award shows aren’t always about the stars giving each other a pat on the back! Sometimes, they’re about giving back to those who need it most.
Tell us: what charity would you toast to?
