Connie Britton Dishes on How She Keeps Her Auburn Locks Shiny + Fabulous
Wondering how ‘Nashville’ star Connie Britton keeps her long, auburn locks looking so fab? We’ve got her secrets right here!
Raise your hand if you’re just a tiny bit jealous of Nashville star Connie Britton’s flowing, auburn locks! The actress’ mane has become her signature—and with good reason: It always looks healthy, shiny, and positively luscious! So how does she keep it looking so fabulous? We’ve got the answer right here—and it’s rather surprising.
Connie was recently in New York to hand out care packages with Curel and Direct Relief International (love!). Styelist caught up with her while she was there and got her to dish on a few of her hair and beauty secrets. The actress is quick to give credit where it’s due, especially when it comes to her looks on Nashville. “Here’s the deal,” she says, “I have fantastic people that I work with on the show who do their thing.”
When she’s left to her own devices, though, her hair care routine is surprisingly low-maintenance. “True confession: I don’t wash my hair very much,” Connie admits. “My hair’s so dry when I wash it, it gets fluffy and hard to handle. I will get out of the shower and let my hair dry on its own. Then, as the days go on, it actually gets better.” She adds, “I don’t need to use products in between because it doesn’t get greasy. But I do have some products that I love like Wen shampoo, which is amazing and helps a lot too.” Would that we could all be so lucky!
Connie loves having long hair. She’s had short hair a few times in her life—“I got a Dorothy Hamill haircut when I was growing up, and then when I went to college I got a really, really short haircut”—but now, she says, “I don’t think I’m ever going to cut it.”
When it comes to skincare, Connie is a little more careful. “I’m not a big believer in plastic surgery for myself, therefore I do think it’s important to take care of your skin.” Her biggest secrets? Staying hydrated and drinking veggie juices. She notes, “I think a lot of it is what you put in your body. It sounds really cheesy, but water is so key. And fresh vegetable juices every day because I feel like that really makes an impact in terms of being glowy and fresh.” She’s also a big believer in moisturizer: “Particular as I get older that’s the thing that helps keep the wrinkles at bay. At least a little bit,” she says.
Well, Connie, whatever you’re doing, it’s working—you look fabulous!
