The One Room We All Forget: The Bathroom
Typically, I keep my bathroom pretty blank. According to Phil, that’s typical of most households: “The bathroom is often the most forgotten room in the house when it comes to decorating… but it truly, is the easiest.” If your looking for a specific color scheme that’s hot right now, Phil suggests choosing, “calming colors such sea foam greens or pale blues.” Additionally, bringing traditional outdoor décor inside is also hot trend for 2012. For your bathroom, Phil suggests, “adding a garden stool in a space corner or wall art to easily add color and character.”
The Great Find fabric shower curtain and shower curtain hooks set in Palermo ($9.99, kmart.com)
Drum garden stool, Prosperity design in yellow ($262.50, target.com)
Mirror dot acrylic wall decal ($15.99, worldmarket.com)
Phil also doesn’t want you to forget that you shouldn’t let a small decorating budget stop you. “The main advice I tell people is – you never need to spend a lot of money when decorating your home. Stores likes HomeGoods offer designer and brand home fashions at prices up to 60 percent less than department or specialty stores – so you don’t have to worry about splurging.”
