Douglas Hannant, Can I Borrow Your Pink Collection? MB Fashion Week 2012
Douglas Hannant Pink Fall 2012 clothes are uptown funky chic!
With guests like socialites like Emma Snowden-Jones, Alexandra Lebenthal, Lady Liliana Cavendish, stylist Phillip Bloch and designer Alvin Valley sitting cheek by jowl, you know that people are dying to see Douglas Hannant’s vision of fall.
Think ’70s Pretty Young Thing, mixed with a hip uptown attitude (I know, there’s a dichotomy between hip and uptown, but bear with me), with insouciant sexiness, cool, chic and fab tailoring and the result, my dears, is the Douglas Hannant Pink fall collection.
Simmering oranges and bright blues were paired with mustard and earth tones. There were dresses and skirts in black and white open plaids and a clever black and white naked lady print. Short pleated skirts and sequined things for night. Lace, sequins, feathers and beads added to the playful tone of the collection.
I personally adored the ivory knit skirt with bows around the bottom. The clothes were figure-flattering, not hootchie-koo; even the sheer tops came off more lady night than Jersey Shore.
Sadly, short of robbing a bank, I can’t afford his things. But I can dream!

PS: Note to stylists — Please for the love of God, stop pairing knee highs with heels. Do you have any idea how uncomfortable that is after a few hours?
