Every Princess Needs a Tiara: The Deets on Lily Collins’ ‘Mirror Mirror’ Jewels
Get all the deets on the priceless tiara sported by Lily Collins in ‘Mirror Mirror!’
No doubt you’ve spotted it on all the promotional materials for Mirror Mirror from here until the end of time. No, I’m not talking about the snow globe. And no, I’m not talking about the fabulous Lily Collins either. I’m talking, of course, about that fabulous tiara Lily is sporting! Isn’t it a beauty? We certainly think so. And lucky us, now we’ve got all the details on this princess-perfect piece!
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the tiara was made by legendary French jeweler Van Cleef & Arpels in 1976 (vintage? We like it!). It features 144 diamonds totaling a whopping 77.34 carats (!) set within a frame of platinum and white gold. Here’s a closer look at it:
Gorgeous, isn’t it? Van Cleef & Arpels’ manager of public relations, Sarah Vicklund, told the Hollywood Reporter that the tiara first got attention from one of Mirror Mirror’s production members when it was on display at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum’s 2011 exhibition, “Set in Style: The Jewelry of Van Cleef & Arpels.”
The jeweler loaned out the piece to Mirror Mirror, where it graces the head of its star Lily Collins as Snow White. Fit for a princess? We think so!
Be sure to catch Mirror Mirror, starring Lily Collins, Julia Roberts, and Armie Hammer, in theaters now!
