Exclusive! Tom Cruise is Nervous
He fears his new movie will be a flop.
Tom Cruise is so worried about his popularity and his upcoming movie opening, Knight and Day, with Cameron Diaz, that he’s impossible to live with, sources tell BettyConfidential. “He’s nervous that his film isn’t going to do well,” a source says. “He’s trying to promote it in any way he can. He’s so obsessed about it that he’s driving the household crazy. He’s worried that he can’t carry a movie anymore.”
The source said it was Tom’s idea to go to London and appear on stage with the Black Eyed Peas. The band has written a special song, “Someday,” for the film. Fergie has a young following and Tom is hoping to get those fans in to see his movie.
“He’s losing it,” the star’s wife, Katie Holmes, told a friend. “He thinks he lost his audience.” The source added that Tom, 47, is also nervous about the movie opening the same weekend as Grown Ups, starring Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock and David Spade. And he fears the film will really flop when the new Twilight film, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse opens the following weekend.
Said the source, “Tom begged the movie studio to move the date of the release, so it wasn’t in competition with Grown Ups and then Twilight.” Fox decided to get a jump on the weekend and pushed the opening date to June 23, a mid-week opening, instead of Friday.
But the star still isn’t happy. “Tom is still nervous. This movie has to do well for him. He fears that he’s becoming immaterial in the business. There are so many hot young male stars out there that are replacing him.”
