Made from the most luxurious and beautiful materials, NORMA ISHAK scarves are more than just a fabulous way to keep warm this winter. Each design is a true work of wearable art; an accessory that will make your outfit.

“I am fascinated by how a beautiful piece of neckwear could perfectly complete any look,” Norma Ishak tells BettyConfidential, adding that her scarves are beautiful — but also functional. “Depending on how you wrap or twist your scarf, it will look different each time you wear it!” she says.

Pictured above: The Norma Classic, Zig Zag: Handmade from soft, luxurious new merino wool, this cozy Zig Zag Scarf introduces a bright pop of red and white into the dark winter wardrobe landscape. Wear this vintage yarn piece wrapped many times or long to best display the long, fuzzy tassels.

Norma says she has always had a keen sense of style and innate ability to match patterns and colors. Norma personally designs each piece in her collection, and she and her daughter Valerie hand-knit many of the pieces. Norma scours the world for materials that she deems perfect, sparing no expense. “Materials are the lifeblood of my designs,” she says.

Norma’s quest? Nothing less than “perfection in materials and craftsmanship,” so she can produce “the finest unique scarves for customers who demand to be ensconced in absolute luxury.”

We had an e-chat with Norma to find our more about the woman behind these super luxe must-haves….

BettyConfidential: What inspired you to launch your business?

Norma Ishak: I began my dream of designing as a young girl. With the encouragement of my teachers, I began to experiment with pattern making and my first construction of custom pieces at the age of 15. An enterprising youngster, I made a few pieces for friends and family. Soon, the fashionable women in my community began to notice my impeccable craftsmanship and taste, and decided that they, too, needed a piece from my designs.

As for the name Norma Ishak, it’s my name and maiden name. The name is in honor of my parents who always had faith in me and instilled a self-belief in my own abilities, and that as a woman I am no lesser person.
