Cartier is one of the leaders in luxury accessories and watches, and the company takes its reputation very seriously. Consumers do too (as in, they seriously want Cartier stuff), and when they can’t afford to pay full price, they turn to sample sale sites like Hautelook to get Cartier merchandise at deep discounts. But if Cartier gets its way, that could change.
Cartier filed a $2 million lawsuit against Hautelook. In in, Cartier alleges that Hautelook has been selling “damaged,” “secondhand” and even “fake” Cartier merchandise. It’s time for a showdown!
Cartier’s complaint continues, claiming that Hautelook “is not an authorized dealer of Cartier’s merchandise.” If Cartier wins this suit, it could cost Hautelook a pretty penny – and a lot of business.
