First Look: H&M Swimwear Collection
Look sexy and chic on the beach with fab swimwear (totes affordable) from H&M.
There are two things women dread about summer: trying on bathing suits and paying for them. Okay, we can’t help you with the trying on thing—trust us, here are BettyConfidential, we are reduced to tears when we have to try on suits, but we can definitely give you great advice on where to find sexy suits for less. To me, the idea of spending over $100 on a scrap of fabric is beyond absurd.
This morning, I checked out the H&M swimwear collection. Everything was on-trend, fun and affordable. Lots of the swimwear is out now, so if you’re planning a weekend getaway, head on over there. H&M has a ton ofswim separates for $4.95. The quality is perfect and sizing goes up to 14.
The most expensive swimsuit I saw was a bejeweled one piece—if I hadn’t known it was H&M, I would have sworn it was Gottex or another pricey brand. Guess what, Betty’s it was only $29.95. If you’re looking for a monokini, you’ll only pay $14.95. Long beach cover-ups are $24.95, rompers go for $12.95, ball caps in summery shades $9.95, summery hats run from $9.95 to $17.95. Sunnies—we need them (a) to look cool and (b) to protect our peepers, run from $5.95 to $9.95. Oh, there’s beach bags priced from $14.95 to $29.95 and the obligatory, but oh so cute beach towels in a variety of prints, $9.95. Don’t forget the shoes! Whether you’re hot for a bright neon shade or a killer print, shoes are only $34.95.
I fell in love with a gold messenger bag and was delighted to find out that it’s only $29.95.
In addition to the swimwear that’s out now and other pieces that will be coming to H&M stores nationwide soon, H&M showcased their 10th annual H&M Water Aid Collection. The linen based collection for men, women and children contains florals and solids like tangerine and beige. For every item sold in this collection 25 percent goes to WaterAid. It’s the leading charity for clean, safe water and sanitation in the world’s poorest countries. The above model is wearing a few of the separates that are part of the collection.
The next time someone says “pool,” “beach,” “surf” or any word that would normally make you cringe, think H&M instead.
