Yes, Bettys, it’s actually happening: After much hemming and hawing and an apparent detour to Europe, production has finally begun on Liz and Dick, the Lifetime TV biopic about Elizabeth Taylor starring (gulp) Lindsay Lohan. Why Europe? Rumor has it that LiLo wasn’t at all happy with the options stateside for the casting of Richard Burton, so she decided that a) she needed to have final approval on casting, and b) she needed to go to London to find her Dick.

While I kind of understand Lindsay wanting to find just the right Richard Burton to make the movie the best it can be—her career revival is kind of riding on this one—I’m still not entirely sure how she developed such high standards for it in the first place. It’s a LIFETIME movie, for Pete’s sake! You can only expect so much from one of those!

Anyway, True Blood’s Grant Bowler eventually landed the role, and hey, look! Pictures! We’ve got not one, not two, but THREE (count ‘em) different images of LiLo trying Liz’s shoes on for size. First up: TMZ’s entry, featuring Lindsay in a shiny gown made of green satin:

The dress is similar, but not identical, to this green lacy number once sported by Liz herself:

And apparently Lindsay’s return to the land of the redheads was short-lived, as according to TMZ, she’s not wearing a wig here—she had her hair cut and dyed to ape Liz’s trademark look.

On-set pics up next!

What were they thinking? She looks vaguely like Natalie Wood but not close to Elizabeth. But as you said, it is only a Lifetime TV movie and I guess we shouldn’t expect much from it.
