First Look: Shirtless Hugh Jackman on the Set of ‘The Wolverine’
Hugh Jackman is currently on location shooting ‘The Wolverine’ in Australia. Shirtless set photos? Yes please!
It’s Friday, Bettys. You know what you need to kick off the weekend? Shirtless pictures of Hugh Jackman. Allow us to oblige!
Principal photography began on The Wolverine on July 30 in Australia. A sequel to the 2009 X-Men flick X-Men Origins: Wolverine, this latest installment will pick up after the events of the previous film and is expected to borrow story elements from the 1982 limited series comic (titled Wolverine, of course) written by Chris Claremont and drawn by Frank Miller. It will also, as far as we can see from the latest set photos, feature lots and lots of Hugh Jackman as the title character running around without a shirt.
I SAID RUN!
Though he’s bulked up for roles before, lately Hugh has been rocking the long, lean, Broadway song-and-dance man look; so who did he turn to for advice on building lots of muscle (25 pounds, to be exact—more than he had ever been asked to gain for a role) really quickly? Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, of course. Hugh told EW, “I rang him up and was like, Okay, tell me what’s going on.” This is what The Rock told him: Six months, a pound a week, and 6,000 calories a day—or, as Hugh noted, “an awful lot of chicken, steak, and brown rice.”
The Wolverine is due for release on July 26, 2013.
Happy Friday, Bettys!
