Glee Grilled Cheesus

On Tuesday’s groundbreaking episode of Glee, the characters tackled the topics of religion and faith after Finn (Cory Monteith) sees the image of Jesus Christ in his grilled cheese. Hence, the name Grilled Cheesus.

The shows creator, Ryan Murphy, told Entertainment Weekly he got the idea for the episode from all of those peculiar “Jesus sightings” in everyday objects. “I love when people see Jesus in bird droppings on the windows and then there are lines out the door and that seems to happen so often now,” Murphy said.

The episode has stirred up controversy because of its religious debate — “do you believe in God?” was a popular question amongst the characters, and Kurt’s (Chris Colfer) disbelief because he is gay was especially timely given the recent cases of bullying and stories like Tyler Clementi’s. There’s no doubt the episode and the tough topics it explored was profound.

But this post is not about that. This post is about Grilled Cheesus.

Out of curiousity, we wanted to see just how many people have stumbled upon Jesus in their grilled cheese… or bird droppings. And apparently, a lot have! The religious figure has been spotted on everything from pancakes to water stains to sand dunes.

Hysterical piece! Someone who lives near me thought she saw Jesus in her window and called the local priest. He came and said, “Wash your windows. It’s a dirt spot.”

    LOL
