Gotham Independent Film Awards: Why Did Everyone But Lara Stone Wear Neutrals?
Bizarrely, almost everyone at the Gotham Independent Film Awards on Monday night showed up wearing neutral colors—except Lara Stone. What’s going on here?
It’s a long road to the Oscars, but guess what? That’s right: Awards season has begun! Once Thanksgiving is over, we start prepping for a season of wins, losses, and of course red carpet fashion. Accordingly, we give you: The Gotham Independent Film Awards!
Showcasing and honoring the best in independent filmmaking, the Gotham Awards are presented in New York, which is often considered the home of independent film. This year’s ceremony took place this past Monday night down on Wall Street. You can check out the full list of winners here; and in the meantime, let’s check out what everyone was wearing, shall we?
We’re not totally sure why, but the gowns this year were overwhelmingly… neutral. Almost everyone wore something neutral. Some people wore white, like Emily Blunt:
