Heidi Klum’s Body Paint for Astor Cosmetics Took HOW Long to Do?!
Heidi Klum exercised her superior powers of sitting still for her new body paint shoot for Astor Cosmetics.
By now, you’ve no doubt seen Heidi Klum’s latest shot to hit the web, haven’t you, Bettys? A rainbow-colored adventure in the art of body painting, the image is part of a shoot to celebrate beauty brand Astor Cosmetics’ 60th anniversary. Here’s the full image:
Kind of neat, right? Heidi kind of looks like she’s been dipped in a tub of that paint you use to create marbled paper. And hey, guess what? She’s giving us a little bit of insight into the process on her blog—including how long it took to do.
According to Heidi, it took a whopping 12 hours for makeup artist Joanne Gair to complete the look. This isn’t the first time the supermodel has had to sit still for so long, though; Heidi estimates that she’s been body painted by Joanne roughly 13 times, so by this point, she’s an old pro. “I don’t mind sitting still for such a long time,” she says, because “it’s a living piece of art that I’m so honored to be a part of.”
The only downside to the whole thing? It’s all just temporary. Said Heidi, “I get so sad when the shoot is over because the beautiful paint all gets washed down the drain!”
Personally, I’m just waiting for the day to arrive when body paint totally supplants clothing. I’m sure some scientific and artistic genius somewhere is already hard at work inventing heat-retaining paint.
Or not. But hey, we can dream!
