Home Road Test: Archipelago Arugula Candle
The Archipelago Arugula Candle may have a funny name, but it smells awesome
Bettys, if I said to you, “how about lighting an argula scented candle in your living room?” You’d probably think I was nuts. I mean, who wants a candle that smells like a salad, right? I know it does sound like some sort of a gag gift. But, the Archipelago Arugula candle ($12 for 5.7 oz, archipelago-usa.com) has a lovely green scent that’s a combination of new mown grass, sunlight and with a slightly earthy undertone. It’s an uplifting scent that will actually make you feel happy.
I tried the travel tin the other day. I placed it in my living room, lit it and puttered around (puttering is my version of putting things away–I start then get distracted) in my apartment. Within minutes, this smallish candle lightly scented my entire home! Seriously, a little goes a long way.
The day was grim: dark, windy and rainy. Once I lit the candle, I felt like I was in a sunlit park. Even after I blew out the candle, my house continued to smell spring-like.
If you’re looking for a candle to chase the clouds away or a really nice hostess gift, give a sniff or two to the Archipelago Arugula candle. Use Archipelago’s online store locator to find a shop near you where you can sniff to your heart’s content.
