Alterna and celebrity hairstylist Daniel Howell created the hairstyle that worked beautifully with Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ oxblood gown.
He first washer her hair with Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Moisture Shampoo & Conditioner. He then towel-dried Julia’s hair and applied Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Styling Prep and use a wide-toothed comb to ensure that it covered every strand. He then dried her hair using a diffuser attachment to his blow dryer and also used his fingertips in an upward motion to create lots of volume starting with the scalp.
Once hair was dry, he divided her hair into two-inch sections. Then he sprayed her hair with Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Perfect Iron Spray to lock in moisture, but block humidity. Then Daniel used a 3/4 inch curling iron and wrapped sections around the iron, keeping it an inch from the scalp. He kept the iron locked on strands for 3 seconds. After the hair was curled, he used a dime-sized amount of of Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Ultra Sleek Polishing Serum through the ends to prevent flyaways.
Then Daniel created a deep center part, pulled the hair into a low, loose ponytail. He then twisted it and wrapped the pony into a loose knot and secured it with bobby pins.
To make sure the style would stay, he sprayed Alterna Caviar Extra Hold Hair Spray in long, feather strokes all over the ‘do.
Emily VanCamp: Young sophisticate
Revenge’s Emily VanCamp’s stunning dove gray gown and sophisticated ‘do was a red carpet winner. TRESemmé Celebrity Stylist John D., created this stunning chignon. John D. has a stylist secret that he’s sharing: use a combination (stylists call it a cocktail) of products to create styling results—mix shine, volume and smoothing products together.
First he applied a combination of TRESemmé Smooth Salon Silk Serum and TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Foaming Mousse to Emily’s hair. He mixed both products on his palms before applying from roots to ends. Using a round brush, he blew dried her hair. Then he took 1-2 inch sections of hair and curl with a small barrel curling iron, spraying each section with TRESemmé Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Spray to protect it from the heat. After the hair was curled, he let the tresses cool down, then he used a small bristle brush and worked it through the curls. Then he brushed the hair back (gently) for more volume and texture. After creating a deep side part, he pulled hair into a loose ponytail on one side of the nape of the neck and secured with a band. He then twisted the pony into a chignon, secured it with bobby pins and sprayed of TRESemmé TRES Two Ultra Fine Mist Non-Aerosol Hairspray for shine and hold.
