Ashunta gracefully squeezed in a few minutes with us to explain how you can find the best foundation for your face.
BettyConfidential: Where’s the best place to test foundation? Should you use the underside of your wrist, or your jaw line?
Ashunta: The best place to test foundations is on your jaw line. I like to use the three swipe rule. I pick three foundations, then I place a swipe of each near the jawline. Usually, the wrong colors will stand out on the jaw line, while the right color will seamlessly blend there.
BC: What’s the best formulas for oily and dry skin?
Ashunta: The best formula for oily skin is one that’s oil-free. A foundation with a matte finish won’t make your skin look greasy. Remember, a little foundation can go a long way when creating a flawless matte finish, so don’t over apply. Dry skin can handle a bit of moisture, so I like to use a liquid or creme foundation, like CoverGirl Queen Collection’s liquid makeup. Its rich texture feels super light and it gives skin a slightly dewy finish that looks like healthy glowing skin.
