How to Get Michelle Williams’ Sexy Marilyn Monroe Look
Michelle Williams transformed herself into the icon in My Week with Marilyn and you can too!
Marilyn Monroe’s platinum blonde hair, black eyeliner and attitude has become an archetype of sensual beauty. 50s star Jayne Mansfield and Sheree North copied her style. As have Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani, Scarlett Johansson and Madonna.
Let’s face it; Marilyn’s look is pretty amazing! If you got a chance to see Michelle Williams light up the screen in My Week with Marilyn, or have always wanted to try out this style, after all, holiday parties are coming up, we’ve got tips from L’Oréal Paris Consulting Makeup Artist, Collier Strong on how to do it right. Before you do add makeup, think skin care first. Your skin is your canvas, so treat it right. The real Marilyn used the Erno Lazlo pHormula 3-9 product ($195, nordstrom.com) to keep her skin camera-ready. In fact, the Erno Laszlo team has the actual products from her estate in their office!
Collier says, “Lashes, liner and lips are essential for this classic look.” So start with the eyes.
1. Do a bold “drawn on” liner to create a sexy cat eye. Start at the inner corners of the eye and gradually thicken the line as you get just past the center of the lid and continue outwards just past the lash line and gently bring the line to a point horizontally with the lash line and slightly curved upward.

2. Eye shadow is optional with this look—if you feel you need, it just use a neutral shade in the crease.

3. Then finish the eye with a few generous coats of L’Oréal Paris Voluminous False Fiber Lashes mascara ($8.00, walgreens.com).
4. And the perfect complement to this eye is a bold lip using L’Oréal Paris Infallible Le Rouge. You might want to try Ravishing Red lipstick shade($7.99, drugstore.com).
