Is Chord Overstreet Returning to ‘Glee’?
Just when you thought Chord Overstreet’s character Sam was gone from ‘Glee’ for good, guess what? He’s back!
Did you really think Chord Overstreet was totally gone from Glee? Really? Because guess what? He’s coming back!
That’s right: Months after his shocking departure from the show, Chord is in talks to return to the show not as a regular, but as a recurring character. According to TVLine, the deal is definitely going to close, which will result in Chord’s character Sam Evans reappearing on the show beginning with this season’s eight episode.
So why the change of heart, especially given that Chord was offered a recurring role once before? A source close to the show apparently told TVLine, “We missed Chord and Chord missed us. It’s a win-win.” Chord had been quoted as saying that the previous offer wasn’t guaranteed, so at the time, it made the most sense to him to turn it down and focus on his music. Now, though, it looks like he’s back in action.
Of course, what we’re all wondering is how Sam Evans will be reintroduced. The season premiere explained his absence by saying that he had moved out of state for his family, so he’d need a really good reason to come back. And what will his exes, Quinn (Dianna Agron) and Mercedes (Amber Riley) make of the situation? I suppose we’ll just have to wait and see!
Chord’s re-entrance episode is expected to air sometime in December.
