Is Drew Barrymore Launching Her Own Cosmetics Line?
Could it be? Is Drew Barrymore planning on launching her own cosmetics line when her Cover Girl contract is up?
Can it be? Is the rumor true? Is Drew Barrymore launching her own cosmetics line? We’re not sure, but word on the street is that she might be!
Drew, you see, has been one of the fabulous faces of Cover Girl since 2007. But although a spokeswoman at Cover Girl parent company Procter & Gamble told WWD that Drew “continues to be a Cover Girl,” rumor has it that her contract will end in January—after which she plans on launching a cosmetics line of her own. She has reportedly been working with the Italian company Intercos, which just so happens to be one of the world’s leading operators in the creation, development, and production of makeup of all kinds, to get the project off the ground; the line (should it actually exist, of course) will be retailed exclusively at Wal-Mart.
No word from Drew’s camp yet. But even though she’s never had her own line of… well, anything before (Fashionista notes that doesn’t even have a fragrance, which is rare in the celeb beauty world these days), if anyone is media-savvy enough to market their own line, it’s Drew. Not just Cover Girl’s face, she’s also the co-creative director of the company’s television campaign. Recipe for success? Maybe!
Tell us: Would you use a line of cosmetics created by Drew Barrymore?
