Is Katie Holmes Pregnant With Baby Number 2?
Rumors started flying yesterday that Katie Holmes was expecting baby number two. But are they true? Well…
Ladies and gentlemen, the rumor mill strikes again! Yesterday, news broke that Katie Holmes was pregnant again, and as the reports would have us believe, Tom Cruise, daughter Suri, and Katie herself are (of course) over the moon about the prospect of the arrival of another wee one. Naturally, the news spread like wildfire. But is it true? Well… let’s take a look at how it unfolded, shall we?
According to Hollywood Life, a source close to Katie told Star magazine that Katie is preparing to welcome baby number 2 into the world. As Star would have us believe, the actress is “struggling to contain the news” and “can’t wait to be a mom again, and the sooner she can tell the world about it, the happier she’ll be.”
But not too long after the “news” hit, Katie’s rep jumped right in to dispel the rumors. Just Jared provided us with the most detailed denial, with the rep stating, “She is not pregnant. It’s [a weekly magazine report]. Why would they be a credible source?” True that! The rep also went on to point out that Star is “the same publication she sued last year and won.” Apparently the magazine didn’t learn its lesson then—I wonder if Katie is planning to sue again?
And just in case we needed it from another mouth, Tom’s rep added a few words as well: “It’s false,” the rep said. “The [tabloid] lied as usual.”
My sense is that Katie probably isn’t expecting baby number two. But as was the case with the supposed Jennifer Lawrence/Kristen Stewart “feud,” I’m left with the question as to where Star and its ilk get their information. Are people claiming to be close to Katie trying to capitalize on her fame in some way, shape, or form? Or are the mags simply making stuff up? Either way, it’s weird. Really, really weird. Am I right?
Although if, by chance, Katie is pregnant and has decided to pull a Snooki about it, I can’t help but wonder how Suri is going to deal with having a younger sibling—and no longer being the sole focus of her parents’ attention. A nightmare waiting to happen? Perhaps…
