It’s a Boy for Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie!
Hilary Duff finally gave birth on Tuesday—and it’s a boy! Congratulations!
An era has truly come to an end: Lizzie Maguire, Disney teen extraordinaire, just gave birth. On Thursday, Hilary Duff announced on her official website that she and hubby Mike Comrie welcomed a baby boy on Tuesday night. Congratulations to the happy family!
“Tuesday evening, we became proud parents of a healthy 7 pound 6 ounce beautiful boy,” the actress wrote. “We are overjoyed and feel like the luckiest parents in the world. He is surrounded by so much love!! Mom and baby are both doing extremely well.” She also Tweeted the news for the benefit of those who don’t regularly check her website (which, I think, is probably most of us).
So what did they name their bouncing baby boy? It’s actually pretty tame by celebrity standards: Luca Cruz Comrie. We’re not really sure where the “Cruz” came from, but we’re willing to roll with it. It’s not like she named him “Bastian Kick” or anything (really, Jeremy Sisto? “Kick?” Really?!). Meanwhile, we’re still coming to terms with the fact that Lizzie Maguire is now 24, married, and a mom. One thing’s for sure: She’s not a kid anymore!
Hilary and Mike tied the knot on August 14, 2010; almost exactly a year later, Hilary announced that she was expecting. Baby makes three!
Here’s to many happy days ahead for the new family!
