Jacques Fath Reopens Its Doors
The famed Parisian designer has a new accessory collection.
Parisian designer Jacques Fath created luxurious designs with a sense of whimsy. “He liked to give themed balls, where he would bring to life the décor and splendor of times past. He had an ornate sense of showmanship, of disguise, of extravagance. ” – Jeromine Savignon author of Jacques Fath, by (Assouline Books).
If you’re lucky to find one of his vintage accessories, they go for a pretty penny (unless you can find them in a thrift shop- I did- so go dig!).
The designer’s house has been closed for 50 years, since the designer’s death in 1954. It’s now been re-opened under the direction of Laurence Dumenil, daughter of Parisian real-estate mogul Alain Dumenil. The new collection will emphasize luxurious accessories created from lizard, python and other exotic skins and materials. The above pictured Lolita clutch goes for $650 at Eve’s Apple.
You can lust over these items online at Eve’s Apple.
