Jennifer Aniston Turned Down SNL for Friends
Lorne Michaels offered her a spot on the Saturday Night Live cast before she signed on to Friends.
Jennifer Aniston has a knack for comedy, but does she have the chops to make it as a cast member on Saturday Night Live? Well, Lorne Michaels certainly thought so!
Jen was on Oprah Wednesday to promote her new movie with Adam Sandler and Brooklyn Decker, Just Go With It. During her interview, she revealed that Michaels offered her a spot on his show in the early 90s, but she decided to turn it down in order to be on Friends.
“They were like, ‘You’re so stupid,'” she told Oprah. “They thought I was making a huge mistake.”
Of course, it wasn’t a huge mistake. For as great as an opportunity SNL was, Friends turned out to be even better for Jen. It spurred “Ross and Rachel,” the Rachel haircut, an everlasting friendship with Courteney Cox, and a whopping $1 million payday per episode.
Sorry, Lorne, but Jennifer definitely made the right decision! (x17online)
