Jennifer Lopez On How to Deal with Obnoxious Managers Who Tell You You’re Fat
JLo’s solution for dealing with obnoxious managers who tell you to lose weight when you don’t need to? Fire them. You go, JLo!
We all know that the gorgeous and multi-talented Jennifer Lopez has one spectacular body, right? Who wouldn’t kill to have those curves? So why the heck would you want to go and tell her to lose weight?
We don’t really know, but apparently, someone did. JLo opened up about the experience to her Monster in Law costar and close friend Jane Fonda in an interview for Glamour: Once upon a time, it seems, Jennifer had a manager who had the nerve to tell her to drop a few pounds. JLo’s response? To fire the manager. Good for her!
“I was just so infuriated that somebody said you couldn’t have a little extra meat on you,” Jennifer said, “because I was by no means fat!” Ayyyy-men, sister! “That was so mean and close-minded,” she continued. “’I was like, No, this is who I am , and this is the type of woman that I grew up with, and it was beautiful and there’s no reason to be anybody but myself.”
Happily, this sort of thing isn’t a problem for the star anymore. “I think people know better now,” she laughed. Furthermore, when Jane asked her if she thought her attitude of “I’m happy being curvy” has had an impact on girls, she replied with a resounding yes: “Many people have told me it has, and that’s something I’m proud of.” As well she should be—we need more positive body image role models in the world!
What’s next for JLo? She may be recently divorced, but that’s not stopping her from go-go-going as usual. According to Deadline, she might be donning mistress of crime Carmen Sandiego’s signature red trench coat and fedora in Walden Media’s upcoming film adaptation of Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego?. Right now, Jennifer is only attached to produce, but Walden Media may try to develop it as a star vehicle for her as well. We don’t know about you, but we think she’s fully capable of ransacking Pakistan and running a scam in Scandinavia. And she’d look totally awesome while doing it.
