Movie and TV star, British actor Jonathan Rhys-Meyers was treated for an alleged suicide attempt Tuesday night.
According to an exclusive report by UK newspaper, The Sun, paramedics responded to an emergency call and found the troubled actor collapsed on the floor. Allegedly, the 33-year-old downed pills in an attempt to take his own life. A source told The Sun, “This is very sad. It was the opinion of those present that he tried to take his life.”
A woman neighbor who saw the ambulance drive up to his posh home also told the paper, “I…was worried to death. Jonathan is a lovely guy. You see him all the time in the street. He says hello and is very pleasant. I hope he is fine.”
In early June, he Rhys-Meyers admitted himself into a rehab facility in South Africa. This was his fifth attempt to become sober. When the ambulance arrived at his house, he refused treatment for more than 30 minutes before agreeing to a hospital visit.
