Josh Hopkins Speaks Out on Those ‘Dirty and Invasive’ Jennifer Aniston Rumors
The star of Cougar Town tells Parade Magazine how it felt to be the target of celebrity gossip for the first time ever.
Cougar Town hottie Josh Hopkins feels really bad for celebrities like Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox — the “real celebrities that have lived with this frenzied scrutiny for their entire life,” he says.
He’s referring to the time not too long ago when he was making headlines for supposedly dating and then dumping Jennifer Aniston, even though they had only shared one friendly meal. He tells Parade Magazine that the experience was “really, really weird and hurtful.”
“I’ve been working in this business for a long time and it’s the first time I’ve ever found myself caught up in the middle of tabloid journalism,” Hopkins says. “It was eye opening to see that a publication could pick up a story from a completely fabricated, unnamed source and create a so-called story… it just felt dirty and invasive.”
Now that he’s experienced it for himself, we’re sure Hopkins has been lending a friendly shoulder to co-star Courteney Cox, who has been the center of attention for the press since news broke that she separated from David Arquette. Hopkins tells Parade that they try to avoid talking about gossip while on the set of Cougar Town, but in the past few weeks, we bet that was very hard to do. (Parade)
